Road and MTB Standard Distance Triathlon, Cycle = Red, Run=Black.
Teams Standard distance: Cycle =Red, Run= Black.
NO WATER POINTS ON 40km CYCLE DUE TO MOGALE CITY LITTERING CONCERNS IN THE CRADLE. TAKE ENOUGH WATER. You may use a water point in the transition area.
Duathlon/Triathlon Standard distance Start at the same time when the Siren goes.
The swim is two laps Anti-Clockwise over the 750-meter course. Keep Buoys on Left shoulder all the way.
Wetsuits are allowed or disallowed according to the announcement just after 6:00 am.
Triathletes and Duathletes merge into Transition area thru the bottom gate. Into Transition, Sharp left. Find your bike row. Helmet on.Race number on. Exit at the top right gate out of the transition area.
Road bikes mount at Mount line and proceed on road towards the main gate. NO DRAFTING RULE APPLIES!
MTB bikes (MTB Triathlon and Duathlon): You complete Two laps! Out of transition. Out at Same gate as road riders, Top right of the Transition area. IMMEDIATE sharp right and sharp right again. Mount at Mount line. Follow markers along. You are on the trail straight away.MTB bikes follow red markers which will bring you back thru the main gate and into the venue. WATCH FOR SIGNAGE TO TURN LEFT TO START the SECOND LAP. At the start of the second lap, you have a water point. After the second lap, You will approach transition on the same pathway, but this time keep straight to the dismount line past the second lap signage. (SAME AS THE ROAD BIKES INTO THE VENUE).
Road Bikes proceed out of the venue. (Same route as into the venue in the morning when you arrive) . Left on the main road Proceed until you get to the first T junction and turn left. Continue straight past the Sprint Tri turn around point. When you go over a narrow bridge you get to a large traffic circle. (DO NOT TAKE A SHORT CUT BY KEEPING LEFT OUT AT FIRST EXIT!) . Carry straight on BY TAKING the SECOND EXIT OUT.
2Km after Circle you find the Sterkfontein Caves road to the right. You turn right. 2km on the Sterkfontein road you find the turn around point. You make a U-turn.
Same way back to the large Traffic Circle. Again, SECOND EXIT OUT.Straight on past Kloofzicht until you Climb a steep hill to a T junction. Turn left. Then Left into the venue again.
The venue road in is downhill. MTB bikes and Road Bikes merge down the entry venue road. Watch for signage to slow down close to the transition area. Both Road and MTB bikes keep to the right of Transition to the dismount line and into transition at the bottom gate. (MTB bikes do so after the second lap).
Rack your bike. Run out the TOP RIGHT GATE again as you left with your bike. BUT SHAPP RIGHT AND SHARP RIGHT again. ( Same exit route as MTB bikes out of Transition) .
Follow the Black arrows for your run. TRIATHLETES RUN TWO LAPS BEFORE YOU ENTER THE FINISH SHOOT. (DUATHLETES RUN ONE LAP ONLY).You have a water point, just as you start your second lap and a second water point 2.5 km into the run each lap.
Sprint Road Triathlon, MTB Sprint Triathlon, Sprint Road Duathlon. Notes are as follows:

Road Sprint Distance Triathlon and Road Sprint Duathlon, Cycle = Blue, Run=Black. (1 Lap).
Cross Sprint Triathlon Cycle = Red, Run = Black (1 Lap).
NO WATER POINTS ON 20km CYCLE.
Race Start for Road Sprint Duathlon, Cross Sprint Triathlon and Team Sprint events. (NOTE: Road together with all other duathlons).

Rack your bike. Run out the TOP RIGHT GATE again as you left with your bike. BUT SHAPP RIGHT AND SHARP RIGHT again. ( Same exit route as MTB bikes left Transition) .
Follow the Black arrows for your run to the finish. (run is one lap. A water point is positioned after 2.5 km into the run).
PARA Athletes yellow arrows 4 laps on the run. (Swim and cycle use the standard sprint route).
Super Sprint Road Triathlon. Or MTB Triathlon Notes are as follows:

MTB Super Sprint Triathlon Cycle = Yellow, Run Blue (1 Lap).

Transition area thru the bottom gate. Into Transition, Sharp left. Find your bike row. Helmet on.Race number on. Exit at the top right gate in the transition area.
MTB Triathletes out of Transition, sharp right and right again. Follow Yellow markers. 1 Lap.
Road bikes mount at Mount line and proceed on road towards the main gate. NO DRAFTING RULE APPLIES!
Road Cycle proceeds out of the venue. (Same route as into the venue in the morning when you arrive) . Left on the main road Proceed until you get to the first T junction and turn left. Continue straight to the Sprint Tri turn around point.
