Water Quality
Finding venues suitable for save healthy open water swimming is  problamatic and becoming more so in South Africa and even in countries such as the UK and Australia. The ITU have testing requirements for key indicative elements which should be tested before an event takes place. Key tests are for E.Coli and Enterococci . 
ITU specifies levels as follows : for E.coli 200 ufc/100 ml is regarded as excellent and 500 ufc/100ml is acceptable. 
For Enterococci 100 ufc/100 ml is excellent and 185 ufc/100 ml acceptable.
Current readings at Cradle Moon Lodge are: 0 ufc/100 ml for E.coli and 10 ufc/100ml for Enterococci . (As tested by an leading laboratory ).
WE CAN SAFELY SAY THAT CRADLE MOON LODGE WATER IS THE CLEANEST WATER FOR OPEN WATER SWIMMING IN GAUTENG!
